Troubleshooting
This section provides resolutions to the most common situations you may encounter in the field when installing or
operating Honeywell HomMed monitors. If you experience a problem operating a peripheral device, refer to the
manufacturer’s product information.

Steps
Patient has a caller ID box attached
to the phone,
or
Patient has a Telecommunication
Device for the deaf (TDD) on the
phone line.
Disconnect caller ID box.
Disconnect Telecommunication
Device for the deaf (TDD) from
the phone line.
1.
Unplug caller ID box phone cord from the
wall jack.
2.
Insert duplex jack.
3.
Plug caller ID box phone cord into duplex
jack.
4.
Plug the monitor phone cord into duplex
jack.
Patient already has a duplex jack in
the jack outlet.
Replace with triplex jack.
1.
Remove duplex jack and insert triplex jack.
2.
Plug patient’s equipment into two of the jack
outlets, and use third outlet for the monitor.
Have two short phone cords but
need a longer cord.
Use a phone coupler.
Connect phone cords using coupler to create a
single cord.
The wall jack is hard to reach.
Use a phone coupler, a duplex
jack, and an additional phone cord.
1.
Unplug phone cord from patient’s phone.
2.
Plug patient’s cord into one end of the
phone coupler.
3.
Plug duplex jack into the other end of the
coupler.
4.
Plug an additional phone cord into one side
of the duplex jack and back to patient phone.
5.
Plug modem cord into the other side of
duplex jack.
