Lighting System
Daytime Running Light Control Unit Input Test
Remove the glove box lower panel and glove box.
Disconnect the 8-P and 4-P connectors from the daytime
running light control unit.
RUNNING LIGHT
CONTROL UNIT (CANADA)
Make the following input tests at the harness pins. If all
tests prove OK, yet the system still fails to work, replace
the control unit.

BLK
Under all conditions. Check for continuity to ground:

Poor ground
should be continuity.
l
An open in the wire.

Under all conditions. Check for voltage to ground:
l
Blown No. 44 fuse.
should be battery voltage.
l
An open in the wire.
3 BLK/RED
Ignition switch ON. Check for voltage to ground:
l
Blown No. 3 fuse.
should be battery voltage.
l
An open in the wire.
Lighting switch ON. Check for voltage to ground:
l
Blown No. 43 fuse.
4 PNK/BLK
should be battery voltage.
l
Faulty lighting switch.
l
An open in the wire.
Under all conditions. Check for continuity to ground:
l
Blown daytime running light

should be continuity.

Ignition switch ON.
Connect to ground:

Blown No. 5 A) fuse.

Brake light bulb failure light

Blown bulb.

Parking brake switch Check for continuity to ground:
