OPERATING THE ENGINE
IMPORTANT: Never operate the starter for more than 15
seconds at a time. If the engine fails to start, return key
switch to OFF. Wait for more than 2 minutes, then try
again.
Failure to do so may damage the starter or discharge
the batteries.
6. Turn key switch (2) to START position to rotate the
starter. The engine will start. Do not step on accelerator
pedal (3).
7. As soon as the engine starts, release the key switch.
The key switch will automatically return to the ON
position. Run the engine at low idle without applying
accelerator pedal (3).
IMPORTANT: At starting the engine, the engine RPM
(min
-1
) is kept at low idle for maximum 35 seconds
when the coolant, transmission oil or hydraulic
oil temperature is low, or for 3 seconds if these
temperatures are in the acceptable operation range.
After this period, the engine RPM will increase by
applying the accelerator pedal (3).

WARNING: Do not operate the machine while the
engine RPM is being kept at low idle, otherwise, the
machine or the front attachment could unexpectedly
move that may result in serious injury.
8. Perform checks to be done after starting the engine and
warm up by referring to page 3-8.

NOTE:
If the machine is equipped with the secondary steering, the
secondary steering auto-check sound may be heard after
starting the engine.
White smoke may occur for several minutes after the
engine starts, this is not a malfunction.
