5. Assign your internal static IP
address and default gateway.
The subnet mask will be filled
automatically according to your IP
address. (If your network is using
specific subnet mask, ask your
network administrator for detail)

NOTE: Most small office routers give out an IP address in the 192.168.X.X network
range. Most often those routers provide an IP addresses dynamically from
192.168.X.100 to 192.168.X.200 to computers that are setup to obtain an IP
address automatically. (Refer to router user manual for detail) DO NOT ASSIGN
DVR IP ADDRESS WITHIN THAT RANGE.
Port Forwarding
Hisco DVR uses 2 different ports to communicate with Eye Client. Those ports are 5823
and 5824 . These ports have to be forwarded at the router to Hisco DVR, so that router
can pass these packets to the DVR.
Firewall
It is not recommended to install 3
rd
party firewall software on Hisco DVR since all
resources must be utilized by DVR application.
When you are using Eye Client from your home PC with firewall (zone alarm, easy alarm,
sygate etc) program installed, you will need to re-configure the firewall setting or turn it
off, so that Eye Client can communicate with Hisco DVR server.
