Calibration
CAUTION
To avoid damage to the instrument, do not apply a voltage
between the positive (+) SOURCE and SENSE terminals
or between the negative (−) SOURCE and SENSE
terminals. Also, do not perform measurements when the
instrument has been turned off.
For the calibration environment, see the accuracy guarantee
conditions in “9.3 Accuracy Specifications” (p. 123).
Calibrating the resistance measurement unit
•
Use standard resistors that are subject to minimal levels
of deterioration with age and have stable temperature
characteristics.
•
Use four-terminal-structure resistors to avoid effects due to the
resistors’ leads.
•
Always use the AC having a frequency of 1 kHz to calibrate the
resistances. A wire-wound resistor, which has a higher inductance
component, does not have effective resistance (the real part
of impedance; the component displayed on the instrument)
equivalent to pure resistance (DC resistance).
• Connect the instrument and a standard resistor as shown below:
