FLOW CONTROL VALVE
REMOVAL, CLEANING AND REPLACEMENT
WARNING: Disconnect Vehicle Battery
prior to performing this procedure to
avoid electrical shock or burns.
WARNING: Always retract wings fully,
lower the plow to the ground and re-
lieve pressure before removing any
fittings, hoses or caps. Allow the system to
cool down before draining oil or handling
system components. Serious burns can re-
sult from contact with hot oil. FAILURE TO
HEED CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.

Disconnect the black wire of the battery power
cable at location 2. Disconnect the red (or red
striped) wire of the battery power cable from the
motor terminal at location 1.
Disconnect electrical supply to solenoid S4. Re
-
fer to Power Unit drawing. Mark or make a note
of the solenoid coil position for reinstallation.

Remove the S4 solenoid valve coil nut with a
3/4” wrench. Remove coil from cartridge. Re
-
move the solenoid valve cartridge with a 7/8”
deep well socket.

The flow control valve is located inside the valve
block, behind the S4 solenoid valve cartridge
previously removed.
Form a piece of wire and insert through hole in
flow control valve or use a dental pick to pull
flow control valve out.
Clean and inspect flow control valve for wear or
damage. Replace as necessary. (P/N 25010542).
Inspect valve block cavity with a pencil magnet
for contamination. Flush out valve block cavity
with clean hydraulic oil.
