Maintenance
Start of season checks
1. Blow down metering system and all sensors
2. Grease all pivot points and bearings
3. Lightly lube land wheel chain drive with chain lubricant
4. Check that the covering harrows are set in the right position
5. Check that the bout markers are at the right working width
6. Check that the CTX packer is in good condition
7. Check all nut and bolts are tight
8. Run up on drill tractor and check that all hydraulic pipes fit with no leaks
9. Check that the seed control is working and registering with the drill
Daily checks
1. Check that the metering system and all sensors are free of dust
2. Check that there are no blocked coulters
3. Check all disc coulters can turn freely
4. Check that the bout markers are at the correct working width
5. Grease bout marker pivot points
6. Grease folding pivot points
7. Check that the distribution head and fan cowling are free of obstructions
Weekly checks
1. Check all nuts and bolts are tight
2. Lubricate and re-tension the land wheel drive chain
3. Grease the bout marker discs
4. CTX packer must be greased every 20 hours
5. Coulter disc hubs greased
3m every 150ha.
4m every 200ha.
5m every 250ha.
6m every 300ha.
End of season checks
1. Empty seed hopper completely
2. Clean drill down with compressed air then gives a good wash over with water.
Do not power wash electrics
3. Give all grease points a small amount of grease to push out any water
4. Give all sprocket and chains a light spray of lubricant to stop rust
5. Check for any ware or damage and repair as necessary
6. Store the seeders control box away from moisture and dust
7. Give the shattaboard adjustment screw a light oiling to protect from rust
