Swivel the HAZET universal spring vice into a vertical position. Align the spring retainers

of the universal tensioning jaw 4903-3 in such a way that the spring retainers grip the
last spring coil directly before the spring plate. In order to reach this position the universal
clamping disc 4903-2 can be rotated. Adjust the position of the second spring retainer via
the adjustment spindle

to the spring pitch. When everything has been adjusted, fasten the
star grip screw

finger-tight and secure the universal tensioning disc using the knurled screw

against twisting.
Operate the HAZET universal spring vice until the spring end comes off the shock absorber and
thus completely unloads it. Do not continue screwing when the upper or lower end of stroke is
reached. Unscrew the screwings of the strut bearings (e. g. with HAZET 4910/13 Shock Absorber
Tool Assortment) and the strut can be removed non-distorted.
In order to release the spring, loosen the HAZET universal spring vice.
To install a spring, the application is carried out in the same order. When positioning the spring
retainer ensure a sufficient part of the spring coil is left over.
Operate the HAZET universal spring vice exclusively via the safety adapter

with an
appropriate HAZET tool, e. g. with HAZET 916-1 and HAZET 900-22.
