ADJUSTMENT ENCODER
Menu active
This menu is only shown (active) in the menu, when
PRINTER CONFIG. >
BOOT DEFAULTS > ENCODER CALIBRATION
is set to
on.
This feature is used to set a calibration value for the encoder. The encoder captures the
movement of the transport system. An accurate capturing of the movement is necessary to
achieve a good print quality.
Option Note
PRINT REFERENCE
Starts the printing of the reference print.
SET CALIBRATION
The measured calibration value can be entered here.
RESET CALIBRATION
Resets the calibration back to the default settings.
Adjust carefully!
An adjustment of the encoder is only necessary when there are
uniform variations visible in the printed image.
When performing an adjustment of the encoder, change the
calibration in small steps only and enter only actual measured values
(see Figure 21).
An exceptionally low or high calibration value can cause printer
malfunctions (e.g. the paper measurement could obtain wrong
values).
Printing the printer internal test pattern no. 2 (
SERVICE > SELECT TEST PATT.
), is an easy
way to obtain a printout suitable for assessing possible variations in the encoder
adjustment. See Figure 20 below, for an example printout, which would require an
adjustment of the encoder.
