F. Engine Oil Contamination
(Rev. 1)
(1) Following an incident of oil contamination, the
components of the propeller that were exposed to
oil contamination must be removed, cleaned, and
inspected.
(a) A propeller that was exposed to oil contamination
must be removed and sent to a certified propeller
repair station with the appropriate rating for
disassembly, cleaning, and inspection.
(b) A governor that was exposed to oil contamination
must be inspected and repaired in accordance with
the applicable component maintenance manual.
6. Long Term Storage
A. Important Information
(1) Parts shipped from Hartzell Propeller Inc. are not
shipped or packaged in a container that is designed for
long term storage.
(2) Long term storage procedures are detailed in Hartzell
Propeller Inc. Standard Practices Manual 202A
(61-01-02).
(3) Information regarding the return of a propeller
assembly to service after long term storage is detailed in
Hartzell Propeller Inc. Standard Practices Manual 202A
(61-01-02).
B. Composite Blades
(1) In addition to the long term storage requirements
specified in Hartzell Propeller Inc. Standard Practices
Manual 202A (61-01-02), the maximum permitted
storage temperature for Hartzell Propeller Inc. composite
blades is 180°F (82°C).
