Maintenance work
Lights
1. Check the cable connections to the headlight, to the rear
light and where appropriate to the hub dynamo for dam-
age and corrosion and that they are securely positioned.
• If the cable connections are damaged or corroded or if
they are not securely positioned, have the lights repaired
by your specialist dealer.
2. Switch the lights on and check that both the headlight
and the rear light light up. For bicycles equipped with
a hub dynamo, turn the front wheel to check the lights.
• If the headlight or the rear light does not light up, have
the lights repaired by your specialist dealer.
3. Check the settings of the headlight
(see chapter “Settings » Headlight”).
Bell
• Press the button on the bell downwards and allow it to spring
back.
• If you don’t hear a clear, high ringing sound, have the bell
replaced by your specialist dealer.
Suspension
• Compress the suspension in and out (suspension seat post
and suspension fork) and check for noises.
• If you hear unusual sounds when compressing and
decompressing the suspension or if the suspension gives
way with no resistance, have the suspension repaired by
your specialist dealer.
• Clean and lubricate the suspension
(see chapter “Cleaning and Maintenance”).
Gear shift system
1. Check that all components of the gear shift system are
free of damage.
• If you notice damage on the components, consult your
specialist dealer.
2. Check for damage to the casing of the gear shift cables or
torn filaments (visual check).
3. Hang the bicycle by the frame or ask another person to lift
it up.
4. Turn the pedal crank clockwise.
5. Shift through all the gears.
