WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
If traction with the ground is insufficient, this will cause
the braking distance to increase and may cause the tyres
to lock, e.g. on frosty, rainy or sandy roads, or if there are
leaves on the road.
• Adapt the way you ride to the condition of the road.
• Ride slowly in conditions where there is insufficient
traction with the road.
• Where possible brake in such a way that the wheels
do not lock.
NOTICE:
Under the same braking force, the rear wheel will
lock more readily than the front wheel.
Depending on your bicycle model, it is also equipped
with various brake types on the front and rear wheel
(see chapter “Notes » Brake”).
Hand brake
• To operate the brakes, pull the brake lever using your fingers
in the direction of the handlebars (see
Figure B-1
).
Figure B-1: Operation of the hand brake (as an example).
• Regulate the braking force using the force you apply when
pulling the brake lever.
• To release the brakes, let the brake lever go.
