Maintenance work
Tyres
1. Check the tyres for cracks and damage caused by foreign
bodies.
2. Check whether the profile of the tyres can be clearly felt.
• If a tyre shows signs of cracks, is damaged or the pro-
file depth is insufficient, have the tyre replaced by your
specialist dealer.
Hand brake
• Follow all the instructions listed below for the front and rear
hand brake.
1. Check that all the screws on the brake are secure.
2. Check whether the brake lever is torque-proof on the
handlebar.
• If you notice loose screw connections, ask your specialist
dealer to tighten them using a torque key.
3. Check that there is still at least 1 cm of clearance from the
brake lever to the grip even when the brake lever is fully
deployed.
• If the clearance is less than 1 cm, adjust the brakes
(see chapter “Settings » Brake”).
4. Check whether it is impossible to push the bicycle for-
wards when one of the brakes is operated, and if it is pos-
sible, that this can only be done when pushing very hard.
• If the braking effect seems low, adjust the brakes
(see chapter “Settings » Brake”).
5. Check for noises when operating the hand brake.
• If you hear noises, have the hand brakes checked by
your specialist dealer.
Rim brakes
1. Check whether the wear limit of the brake shoes has been
reached (see
Figure W-3
).
• If in doubt, ask your specialist dealer to check the wear
limit of the brake pads.
