Base Indicators

Make sure the scanner and base are linked.

To turn on indicators for the base, scan

Enable Base Indicators

.

Scan the sample barcode (1234567890) above.

Success Indicator

Chirp and Red LED:

A short chirp sound and the red LED flashing on the

base with every scan means the last transmission between the scanner and
base was encrypted. It means the FIPS software has been installed in both
the scanner and base successfully.

Error Indicator

Security Warning Double Beep:

A short double beep and the red LED

flashing on the base with every scan means the last transmission between the
scanner and base was not encrypted. It means the FIPS software has been
installed in the base, but

not

in the scanner.

The following barcode can be scanned to display the scanner and base software
numbers and revisions to a host application. (For keyboard emulation, Microsoft
Word® or Notepad® can be used.)
