newDirectVentFreestandingGasStove.Please
reviewyourproducttomakesureyouhaveevery-
thingyouneed.Intheeventthatyouaremissing
anypart,contactyourdealer.
Note: These are the minimum pieces required.
Other parts may be required for your
particular installation. See above for a
list of vent parts.
Ifinstallingterminationonasidingcoveredwall,
a vinyl siding standoff or furring strips can be
usedinordertoensurethattheterminationisnot
recessedintosiding.
Thevinylsidingstandoffisrequiredforwallswith
vinylsiding.

HORIZONTAL TERMINATIONS
1) Settheunitinitsdesiredlocation.Checkto
determineifwallstudsareinthewaywhenthe
ventingsystemisattached.Ifthisisthecase,
youmaywanttoadjustthelocationoftheunit.
2) Assemble the desired combination of pipe
andelbowtotheapplianceadapterwithpipe
seamsorienteddown.Offsetthepipeseams
asdoubleseamsinoneplacewillcausethe
outer pipe to take an oval shape. Kit comes
completewith18"ofstraightvent-6-5/8"dia.
blackouterpipeand4"dia.innervent.
3) Withthepipeattachedtothestove,slidethe
stove into its correct location, and mark the
wallfora 9-1/2" (inside dimensions) round
hole.Thecenteroftheroundholeshouldline
upwiththecenterlineofthehorizontalpipe,as
shownindiagram1.Cutandframethe9-1/2
roundholeintheexteriorwallwherethevent
willbeterminated.Ifthewallbeingpenetrated
isconstructedofnon-combustiblematerial,i.e.
masonryblockorconcrete,a7"diameterhole
isacceptable.
a) Thehorizontalrunofventshouldhavea1/4
inchriseforevery1footofruntowardstheter-
mination.Neverallowtheventtorundownward.
Thiscouldcausehightemperaturesandmay
presentthepossibilityofafire.
b) The location of the horizontal vent termina-
tion on an exterior wall must meet all local
andnationalbuildingcodes,andmustnotbe
blockedorobstructed.Refertothe"Exterior
VentTerminalLocations"section.
c) Snorkel Terminations:
Forinstallationsrequiringaverticalriseonthe
exterior of the building, 14-inch and 36-inch
tallsnorkelterminationsasshowninDiagram
2areavailable,aswellasthestandardriser
vent.Followthesameinstallationprocedures
as used for standard horizontal termination.
NEVERinstallthesnorkelupsidedown.

4) Installwallpenetrationheatshieldinthecenter
ofthe9-1/2"roundholeandattachwithwood
screws.Thefourwoodscrewsprovidedshould
be replaced with appropriate fasteners for
stucco,brick,concrete,orothertypesofsidings.

Below Grade Snorkel Installation
If the snorkel termination must be installed
belowgrade,i.e.basementapplication,proper
drainage must be provided to prevent water
fromenteringthesnorkeltermination.Donot
attempttoenclosethesnorkelwithinthewall
oranyothertypeofenclosure.Seediagram2c.

5) If installing termination on a siding covered
wall, a vinyl siding standoff or furring strips
mustbeusedtoensurethattheterminationis
notrecessedintothesiding.Seediagram3.If
installingtheriserventterminalfollowthesteps
below:

Taketheriserventterminalandseparate
the backing plate from the riser vent
frontbyremoving8screwsasshownin
diagram4.
2.
Install the backing plate into the wall
penetrationheatshieldandattachusing
4screws.Dia.4.
3.
Connect all pipe sections to unit and
installintowall:
a.
Measurepipelengthrequiredand
cuttolength.Hint:usethecutend
ofthe6-5/8"dia.outerpipeatthe
ventterminalend.
