Introduction
The Halytech hydroSpider2 is an integrated monitoring, control, and alarm system designed for
remote, low power, and battery-powered applications. It can monitor and log a variety of inputs,
generate alarms, switch power to sensors, and automatically send reports. It is a complete system –
setting up and interrogating a hydroSpider is a simple matter of viewing pages with any standard
web browser – no additional software is required.

System Overview
The hydroSpider device is made up of input channels, controls, in-built data storage, an in-built 3G
modem, and a battery charging circuit.
The basic hydroSpider system is capable of:
Monitoring up to 8 inputs. These can be any combination of:
o
up to 4 user inputs,
o
up to 4 system inputs (Battery Voltage, Charger Voltage, System Temperature
and Moisture Detector
Generating 16 alarms including sending alerts via SMS messages, emails, and tweets
Switching power out to external devices
Logging input, control, alarm, and system activity
Sending automatic reports via email, FTP and HTTP
Downloading software updates and setup changes via FTP
Charging a 12V SLA rechargeable battery from a DC or solar source
