ROTARY GEAR PUMP
ELECTRONIC FOAM PROPORTIONING SYSTEM

: Description
All Hale FoamMaster systems require at least
one flowsensor for operation. Some systems
may be designed to operate using multiple
flowsensors for a wide range of discharge
flows. When 2 or more flowsensors (up to
eight) are installed on an apparatus
equipped with a Hale FoamMaster system,
Foam Discharge Multiplexing Display Units
must be installed. Each multiplexing unit
receives a signal from an individual
flowsensor and provides a constant digital
readout of flow in the monitored discharge.
The multiplexing units are interconnected
and the final unit is connected to the
control unit. The control unit provides a
digital readout of the total flow in all
flowsensor monitored discharges.
Additionally, a pressure transducer
mounted in the discharge piping provides a
signal that is shown on the multiplexing unit
bargraph as the discharge pressure. A push
button on the multiplexing unit gives a
digital readout of the discharge pressure.
The multiplexing unit is used on the operator
panel instead of analog line pressure
gauges.
Ordering of Hale FoamMaster systems is
simple. Using the current Hale FoamMaster
System Price List and Order Form helps
ensure a complete matched system is
provided to the end user. Use the following
procedure when ordering a Hale
FoamMaster system:
1. Determine the type of foam
concentrate to be used in the system
and ensure system compatibility by
referring to the Hale FoamMaster
Concentrate Compatibility list (Bulletin
#650).
2. Determine the Hale FoamMaster system
desired (
Model 5.0
, Model 3.3 or Model
3.0;
12 VDC
or 24 VDC motor; control
cable length,
16.5 feet
or 6.5 feet).
3. Determine tank selector desired based
on the number of foam concentrate
tanks installed (
ADT
or MDT
ΙΙ
for dual
tank systems; MST or No Selector for
single tank systems).
4. Determine strainers desired (
In-line
Strainer/Valve Assembly
, FS 15 Strainer
or FS 25 Strainer).
5. Determine the low tank level sensors
desired (
Side Mount
, Bottom Mount or
Top Mount Assembly).
6. Determine the size of flowsensor desired
based on minimum and maximum
discharge flow (HPF40, HPF30,
HPF25
,
HPF20 or HPF15; flowsensor cable length,
16.5 feet
or 6.5 feet).
7. If multiple flowsensors are required
determine the number of foam
discharge multiplexing display units to
order.
8. Determine additional Hale components
that enhance system operation and
ease installation (Waterway Check
Valves, Manifolds, Flanges, etc.).
A complete Hale FoamMaster system
requires steps 1 through 6 above.
Components shown in

represent the best value performance
system. System components are shown in
the following system configuration section.
All components listed have been
engineered and tested with Hale
FoamMaster systems to provide optimum
system performance. Using the information
provided in this manual section and the
detailed ordering procedures on the option
order form ensures a complete Hale
FoamMaster system is ordered thus
eliminating delays caused by missing
components.
