Drive Pulley
The drive pulley is mounted to the drive motor. It
has fins on the motor side to help keep the motor
cool during operation.
Transmission Pulley
The transmission pulley doubles as a gear for the
mode shifter to lock into during agitation.
Drive System
Drive Belt
The drive system is used to spin the basket at a
specified revolution in different cycles. There are
two types of drive systems covered in this service
manual: belt drive and direct drive.
The drive system consists of the belt, pulleys,
drive motor, mode shifter, speed/hall sensor and
transmission. They all operate together to agitate
and/or spin the load in the basket.
The drive belt has six ribs and can be removed
easily. To access the belt, the belt protector
needs to be removed first.
Belt Protector Removal
• Remove three hex-head head bolts securing
the belt protector to the platform assembly
and set it aside.
Belt Removal
• Rotate the pulley by hand while walking the
belt off the pulley.
