Maintenance
General
Clean the machine after every use and spread with anti-corrosion oil. Remove the splints gathering below
the clamping jaws regularly. Use a thin flat brush to do it. Never use presser air.
Gear, worm and worm wheel are exposed to wear and tear. The frequency of replacing the parts is subject
to the period of use. You may order a full assembly and disassembly kit including instructions from your
dealer. This kit may be delivered from the stock. Clean the cooling fluid tank regularly. That will make the
service life of the pump longer. Check the condition of the oil filter in the cooling circuit. If the filter is fouled,
it should be cleaned or replaced.
Check on the oil level in the saw head on a weekly basis. .
Check on the oil level in the saw store tank and replenish if necessary (see page 4).
Check the oil tub and water trap every day. Fill the oil tub with oil BP HLP 15 or similar type.
Drain the water from water trap of the maintenance unit. Glass on PK versions may be screwed off.
Lubrication
The gearbox with sprocket wheels should be rinsed at half-
a-year intervals at least subject to the use of the machine.
Loosen the screwed plug at the saw head bottom and
drain the oil. Rinse the box with kerosene thoroughly and
drain it. Fill the box with 1.1 litre of oil BP GRXP 680 (ISO).
Check the oil level in the peephole. If the saw head the
operation is continuous and the saw head is getting warm,
it may be due to high level of oil.
The lubricating head of swivelling pins of the saw head
should be greased on a quarterly basis. There is a lubrica-
tion head on your saw. (Fig. 7).
Threaded spindles, vice guiding rods and the mechanical
vice guides should be oiled regularly. Use oil BP SHF 15
for this purpose.
Saw Disks Grinding
It is possible to work with the splitting saw efficiently only if the disk is ground on time. Should the cutting
performance of the saw be falling, do not attempt sawing by pushing on the handle. I may cause break of
the teeth.
Grinding should be on the machines that are designed for the purpose. In addition, it is recommended that
any ground saw you operate is inspected. During this visual check, spacing and the back angle should be
minded.
