2.1 General installation data

3. Applications

By means of the IO 112 it is possible to

• monitor and control the liquid level

• monitor and control the temperature

• use the counter function, for instance if the pump

is to pump a specific volume and then stop.

3.1 Potentially explosive environments

IO 112 must not be installed in explosive environ-
ments, but may be used together with Grundfos
pumps approved for installation in potentially explo-
sive environments.

4. Identification

4.1 Nameplate

The nameplate is fitted on the side of IO 112.

5. Storage

IO 112 may be stored for maximum two years.
See date on the box label.

6. Installation

Before installation, check that the

• IO module is the one ordered.

• IO 112 is suitable for the supply voltage and fre-

quency available at the installation site.

• IO 112 has not been damaged during transporta-

tion.

The installation must be carried out by authorized
personnel in accordance with local regulations.

All safety regulations must be observed on the instal-
lation site.

6.1 Location

IO 112 is only for indoor installation.

Enclosure class

IO 112 is enclosure class IP 20 and designed
according to overvoltage and measurement category
II. In order to reduce the external pollution level to
maximum 2, the IO 112 must be installed in a pro-
tecting environment with minimum IPX4 enclosure
according to IEC 60529. The cabinet must be of a
flame-retardant material.

Ambient temperature

–25°C to +65°C.
IO 112 must not be exposed to direct sunlight.

Installation height

Maximum 2000 m above sea level.

Relative air humidity

Maximum 95%.

Supply voltage:

24 VAC ±10% 50/60 Hz
24 VDC ±10%

Supply current:

Min. 2.4 A; max. 8 A

Power consumption:

Max. 5 W

Ambient temperature:

–25°C to +65°C

Enclosure class:

IP 20

Check that the supply voltage corre-
sponds to the values stated on the name-
plate: 24 VAC 50/60 Hz /24 VDC ±10%.
Min. 2.4 A.

IO 112 must not be used for other pur-
poses as the ones specified.

Before installing the IO 112, make sure
that the electricity supply has been
switched off and that it cannot be acciden-
tally switched on.

IO 112 must not be installed in potentially
explosive environments. Ex-approved
pumps may, however, be installed in an
explosive environment.
