G Troubleshooting
Even carefully designed and manufactured technical systems that are
properly operated, may experience malfunctions. Table G-1 provides an
overview of possible problems that may occur during the operation of the
softeners GSX / VGX and indicates the causes and their elimination.
The water softeners VGX are equipped with an error detection and signal
system.
If an error message is displayed:
1. Press „Program“ key (= acknowledgement of malfunction), except for
Er 3 (refer to table G-1).
2. Watch the display.
If the message reappears, compare it with table G-1.
3.
If necessary, notify technical service.
Note:
The technical service definitely must be notified in case of malfunctions
that cannot be remedied with the information given in table G-1 (refer to
www.gruenbeck.com)! When contacting the technical service, please indicate
the system designation, serial number and the error message displayed.

1)
Power failure
Appears after return of power (in case
of power failures that are longer than 5
minutes). Water softener executes re-
generation for each exchanger.
In general, regeneration in progress
will only be interrupted in case of a
power failure and will resume operation
again after return of power.
In case of a longer period of power
failure, the internal clock of the control
unit continues running for at least 3
hours.
The time interval of 4 days for a forced
regeneration is extended by the dura-
tion of the power failure if the available
soft water volume has not been con-
sumed (only applies, if acc. to the fac-
tory-setting the error signal Er0 is de-
activated).
