1 | Basic information
In order to guarantee the reliable function of the water softeners over a
long period of time, some maintenance has to be performed at regular
intervals. In particular when it comes to softening within the range of
the drinking water supply, the required measures to be taken are stipu-
lated in standards and guidelines. Furthermore, all regulations and
guidelines which apply at the installation site must be observed.
DIN 1988 part 8/A 12 stipulates:
Inspection every second months.
Yearly maintenance.
For documentation of the maintenance work, an operation log (refer
to chapter H, paragraph 4) must be kept.
Note:
By concluding a maintenance contract, you ensure that all re-
quired maintenance work will be performed in due time.
Warning!
Impurities introduced to the brine tank may adversely affect
the water quality.
Therefore, be very careful with regard to hygiene when refilling salt.
Attention!
Insoluble impurities in the salt may cause malfunctions at
the brine valve and at the injector of the control valve.
Only use salt tablets as per EN 973 type A.
Attention!
If the minimum salt filling level is undershot, hardness will
break through. Regard minimum salt filling level (refer to marking line at
brine funnel).
According to DIN 1988 part 8 / A 12, maintenance work on water sof-
teners may only be performed by the manufacturer’s technical customer
service or an authorised and specialised company.
