Always keep mast connections clean.
Cleanse with a clean cloth, and if need
be apply silicone grease or -spray-, in
particular after subjection to salt water.

Use lukewarm soapy water to cleanse
sails.
►
►
Repair holes and tears immediately, be-
fore they rip further, - if need be apply
sticky-tape as temporary repair.
►
►
Use poly-acrylic (epoxy) varnish to repair
damage to wooden boards, rudder etc. -
prior to repair, wood must be entirely dry.
►
►
Apply silicone grease or -spray- to
blocks, cleats and carbines
►
►
After subjection to salt water, use fresh
water to thoroughly rinse sails.
►
►
Dry sails before stowing.
►
►
Stow the sailing rig in the appropriate rig-
bag (special accessory)
►
►
Store the sailing rig in a dry place, so as
to avoid corrosion and mould.
►
►
Never subject sails to undue extended
sunlight.
GERERAL HINTS ON
CONDUCT WHEN UNDER WAy

The sailing rig must not be used in condi-
tions of wind exceeding force Beaufort 4.

Reduce the sail area when sailing under
conditions within and close to the limit of
maximum wind-strength
►
►
If the wind increases to strength (excee-
ding Beaufort 4), lower all sails and pro-
ceed to the nearest shore without delay.

►
Watch out when encountering offshore
winds.
►
►
Inform yourself on local notices and re-
gulations.
►
►
Check weather forecasts, local currents,
tides and wind conditions.
►
►
Inform someone ashore as to your sche-
duled destination and estimated time of
arrival /return.

Explain to your passengers the basics of
sailing.
►
►
Ensure that in the event of an emergency
one of your passengers is able to skipper
the boat.
►
►
Safety comes first - learn how to avoid
accidents!

►
Be responsible at all times.
►
►
-never neglect to observe safety regula-
tions, for to do so endangers your and
other peoples life.

Learn to be able to cope with your boat
under all conditions.
►
►
Secure your luggage against loss in the
event of capsize, by means of lacing and
strapping it to the boat.

Observe and obey local regulations.
►
►
Close to shore, always keep to desig-
nated and marked fairways, and keep a
good lookout.

►
Ensure that you and your passengers
wear life jackets.
►
►
Never navigate a boat under the influ-
ence of alcohol, drugs or medicaments.
►
►
Ensure that passengers are sober.
►
►
Check that when landing, all passengers
have arms and legs inside the boat. -
Risk of injury!

Keep away from swimmers and divers.
►
►
Never carry out sudden „come about“
and turn manoeuvres without informing
your passengers first.
