Note: the O ring (57129) on the shaft, if this is worn
– replace.
When replacing the seal, use an aerosol to spray clean water on both faces to lubricate
the seal action.
2.3 Check the rear wear ring (68026) for wear and damage
If the wear is more than 116.1mm then replace the ring (same as front wear ring)
To remove the ring, undo 2 x M5 screws. When fitting the new ring apply a small
amount of threadlock
– Loctite 243 or similar - to the screw threads. Tighten to 2Nm.
2.4 While the impeller is removed from the pump, the front and rear wearing
dimensions can be checked. This dimension should be no less than 114mm.
This dimension must be measured on the front and back of the impeller.
2.5 When the shaft seal and wear ring inspections are completed the impeller can be
replaced. Make sure the impeller key is located on the shaft. There is a slot in the rear
of the impeller that aligns with this key. Apply grease to the end of the pump shaft.
Note: when refitting the impeller a new nyloc nut must be used. Tighten the impeller
nut to the shaft to a torque of 45 Nm. This will push the impeller back into position on
the shaft.
3. Priming valve
To inspect and repair the Priming Valve, remove the complete assembly as described
in sections 1.3 to 1.7.
