REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Introduction
These instructions describe the complete strip-down of the pump. To reduce
unnecessary work and avoid the introduction of other issues, only dismantle those
parts necessary to effect inspection and or repair.
If replacement parts are needed, please refer to the Spare Manual (GP/292) for the
relevant assembly and part numbers.
Precautions
Before carrying out repair work, take the following precautions:
o
Drain the fuel tank.
o
Drain the engine oil tank.
o
Drain the volute of water.
o
Disconnect and remove the battery.
o
Disconnect the electrical connections to the ignition coil.
Post Repair and Assembly
On completion of work:
o
Refill ALL fluids, refit / reconnect battery and electrical leads.
o
Carry out vacuum test.
o
Complete the maintenance log.
Installation
Do
NOT
allow oil, grease or silicone products to contaminate Mechanical Seal mating
(ceramic / carbon) faces.
