Perform a Functional Check
Before you use the GlideScope Cobalt AVL System for the first time,
perform the following functional check to assure that the system is
working properly. Please contact your Verathon Medical Customer
Care Representative if your Cobalt AVL System does not function as
described below.
To perform a functional check of the Cobalt AVL System:
1. Fully charge the monitor battery.
2. Connect a Cobalt AVL Video Baton to the monitor.
3. Turn the Cobalt AVL on by pressing the
Power
button located
on the front panel of the monitor.
4. Look at the monitor screen to verify that an image is being
received from the video baton.
Note:
When you insert the video baton into a GVL
®
Stat, a small
portion of the stat appears in the upper left corner of the monitor
screen. The edge of the stat is captured in the view because of the
wide-angle camera lens used in the baton. This image acts as a frame
of reference during the intubation process and assures that the
orientation of the image is correct in the monitor.
5. Press the
Record
button to start recording. To stop recording,
press the
Record
button again.
6. Depress and hold the
Tutorial
button for approximately 3 seconds.
A video showing the
GlideScope 4-Step Technique tutorial will
begin playing.
