GENERAL INFORMATION
MT PROFESSIONAL
is an ELF magnetotherapeutic unit designed for in ambulatory or at patient
home professional applications, it is especially proper in the therapies that require treatments
repeated for an along period and/ or long duration sessions, or therapies on traumatized or for any
reason immobilized patient that therefore have difficulty to reach a physiotherapeutic ambulatory.
The unit has two square wave electric current generators, with varying frequency (2- 5- 10- 20-
30- 40- 50- 60 Hz) and varying pulse duration in order to get a predetermined and selectable
percentage (20 - 40 - 60 - 80 - 99) of the intensity field related to the maximum obtainable from
the connected transducer. A couple of flat transducers and a cylindrical transducer can be
connected at the same time to the unit.
The couple of flat transducers and the cylinder can be activated at the same time and freely
replaced with other since the unit automatically recognises them and proper own characteristics
to deliver the pre-set intensity.
The magnetic field polarity is labelled on the flat transducers so to allow the use of a single
transducer or add the intensities produced by two transducers with coherent fields linked.
The "north" polarity of the cylinders is situated in the side where the feeding cable is.
The intensity of the desired magnetic field is reached by modulating the actuation time of the
feeding current of the solenoid which current is monitored by a warning circuit managed by an
electronic microcontroller that assures its precision.
The maximum intensity of the magnetic field generated by each transducer is equal to the value
of the magnetic nominal field of the same transducer; intensities lower than this value can be
select by the unit controls.

When the value of the desired field is reached, the current and the magnetic field stops. (2) The
rapid variation of the magnetic field determines the current induced in the patient.
The generated magnetic field is of impulsive type with pulse repetition frequency presettable by
the operator, while the slope characteristics of the impulse and duration of the same is
dependent both from the used transducer and the required intensity of field. When the pre-set
field intensity is reached the field is quickly annulled and this rapid variation of the field
induces the electro-motrice force that determines the stimulating currents in the patient.
