Upgrading to BRCM2.x

Connect the field wiring connector assemblies to the D-box board. Connector position and
dispenser numbering details as follow:
• Connector P106A: Dispensers 1 to 4
• Connector P107A: Dispensers 5 to 8
• Connector P106B: Dispensers 9 to 12
• Connector P107B: Dispensers 13 to 16.

Connect the two-wire input cables from POS to DB9 connectors of BRCM2.

Power up the D-Box by connecting AC power to the D-Box lid, and connecting the lid output
to the D-Box. If the box does not power up, verify that the switch on the lid is in the ON
position. When the unit is properly powered up, the board in the lid and the LEDs on the
D-box board will lit. LEDs D19 (POS Transmit A), D21(POS Transmit B), D23 (DC Power),
and D24 (TWI 5V DC).

Verify that the two-wire communication is established. LEDs D19 and D21 will blinks along
with respective channel LEDs (1 to 16).

Remove the AC power. Lift the lid assembly off the tab panel and close the completed
assembly.

Connect the RJ-45 connector from the Applause Media System Server or other high-speed
data source.

Connect the AC power cable again. The unit is now ready for use.
