When your notebook computer G-MAX N411 is active, the
Suspend/ Resume/ Power On button can also be used to
manually put your notebook into Suspend mode. Push the
Suspend/ Resume/ Power On button when your notebook is
active, but not actively accessing anything, and immediately
release the button. You will hear two short beeps and your
system will enter Suspend mode. If your notebook computer
G-MAX N411 is suspended, pushing the Suspend/ Resume/
Power On button will return your notebook to active operation.
You can tell whether or not your system is in Suspend mode by
looking at the Power icon on the Status LCD Panel. (See Chapter
1.3 Power/ Status LED icons for more information.) If the
indicator is visible and not flashing, your notebook computer
G-MAX N411 is fully operational. If the indicator is both visible
and flashing, your notebook computer G-MAX N411 is in
Suspend mode. If the indicator is not visible at all, the power is
off or your notebook computer G-MAX N411 is in Hibernation
(Save-to-Disk) mode.
The Suspend or Hibernation (Save-to-Disk) mode should
not be used with certain PC Cards. Check your PC Card
documentation for more information.
Besides, there are three power management parameters:
y
STANDBY MODE
Standby mode is one of the power management parameters.
When Standby mode is activated, your notebook computer
G-MAX N411 shuts off the display and turns off the hard drive
when there is no activity (keystroke, pointer action, sound
generation, video display change, modem transmission or
reception, etc.) on your notebook for the user-selected Standby
timeout period. Any activity will cause your notebook computer
G-MAX N411 to return to normal operation automatically. This
feature is independent of the Suspend/ Resume/ Power On
button.
y
DISPLAY TIMEOUT
The Video Timeout is one of the power management parameters.
This feature saves power by turning off the display if there is no
keyboard or pointer activity for the user selected timeout period.
Any keyboard or pointer activity will cause the display to restart
automatically.
