Clear Device
The interface command CLEAR 713 resets the GPIB and sets the 8650A to its preset condition.
Clear Interface
The interface command ABORT 7 resets the GPIB without resetting the 8650A to its preset condition.
The 8650A will not be addressed after the abort.
Local and Remote Control
The interface command LOCAL 713 places the 8650A into the local control mode.
The interface command REMOTE 713 places the 8650A into the remote control mode. Enter LOCAL
713 to return the instrument to local mode.
The interface command LOCAL LOCKOUT 7 places the 8650A in the local lockout mode. This is a
remote control mode in which all of the 8650A front panel keys are disabled. The GPIB LOCAL
command must be issued to return the 8650A to local mode (disconnecting the GPIB cable will also
return the instrument to local mode).
Sensor Selection and Calibration
Power sensor selection data, specifications, and calibration (local and remote) are contained in
Appendix B of this manual.
3.1.2 Polling
The GPIB supports parallel and serial polling. The example programs below show how to use the
parallel and serial poll capabilities of the 8650A to determine when a requested zeroing operation is
completed.
