5.0 MODBUS Interface
5.1 Introduction
The TS4000 provides the ability of communicating via the industry standard MODBUS protocol,
while acting as the slave device in a typical master / slave configuration. Upon receiving an
appropriate query from the master, the TS4000 will respond with a formatted message as
defined below.
5.2 Baud Rate
The TS4000 baud rate is selectable using either the MODBUS Communications Interface or
Base Unit User Menus. The selectable baud rates are 19,200, 9,600, 4,800, or 2,400 bits per
second (bps). The factory set baud rate is 9,600 bps.
5.3 Data Format
The data format is selectable using either the MODBUS Communications Interface or Base
Unit User Menus. The factory set data format is 8-N-1. The selectable data formats are as
follows:

5.4 Function Codes Supported
The TS4000 supports the following function codes:
•
Function Code 03 (Read Holding Registers) is used to read status from the slave unit.
•
Function Code 06 (Preset Single Register) is used to write a command to the slave unit.
