Installation and Operation Manual
4. Enter a description of the Ethernet interface by typing:
configure interfaces description ethernet0 "orlando_lan"
5.
Enable the Ethernet interface by typing:
configure interfaces enable ethernet0
6. Configure the serial0 interface (at the T1 port) for Frame Relay DTE, followed by Frame
Relay LMI. If the SC-IP’s default values apply to your network you do not need to re-enter
them. Otherwise use the CLI to set any configuration value as required. Type
?
following any
command, sub-command or parameter for context-sensitive online help.
configure interface link-encap serial0 frame-relay-dte
configure frame-relay lmi type s0 cisco
configure frame-relay lmi n391 s0 6
configure frame-relay lmi n392 s0 3
configure frame-relay lmi n393 s0 4
configure frame-relay lmi t391 s0 10
configure interfaces enable serial0
7. Create, configure and enable sub-interfaces to support Frame Relay DLCIs by typing:
configure interfaces add-sub serial0.17
configure interfaces description serial0.17 "NOC_miami"
configure interfaces enable serial0.17
8. Map Frame Relay DLCIs, IP Encapsulation to sub-interfaces by typing:
configure frame-relay interface-dlci serial0.17 17 ietf
9. Configure and enable Traffic Shaping per sub-interface by typing the CIR, Bc and Be values
consistent with how your Frame Relay network has been configured, for example:
configure frame-relay traffic-shape serial0.17 768000 768000 384000
configure frame-relay ena-traffic serial0.17
10. Configure and enable Terminal Server Port by typing:
configure term-serv ip-address term1 192.160.1.12
configure term-serv description term1 "terminal_device"
configure term-serv enable term1
11.
The following steps 11 through 15 describe setting up static routes for the Frame Relay
network.
12.
Set up a static route at a remote site towards the NOC by typing:
configure ip-route add serial0.17 128.1.0.0 255.255.0.0 128.1.1.10 1
Note
If desired. type
show interfaces
to check your current interface entries. Modify, if needed.
Note
If a local router is used at the NOC instead of a SC-IP, consult your router documentation for
static route configuration guidelines.
