Static Routing in a Frame Relay T1 Network
In this procedure, the SC-IP’s default value for each T1 parameter is shown in the command string
as: [default]. If the default value applies to your network, you do not need to re-enter it. Otherwise,
use the CLI to set the T1 configuration value as required. Type
?
following any command, sub-
command or parameter for context-sensitive online help.
Note
Some ADMIN mode configuration commands (i.e., enabling the craft port or setting up user accounts)
cannot be accessed or executed via the web interface.
1. After initializing the SC-IP for configuration, perform the following steps to configure the unit
as an IP router in a Frame Relay network (
Figure 3-1
).
1. Set the system prompt by typing:
configure prompt
[your_site]
2. Configure the T1 values for your network.
configure t1 clock-source
[line]
configure t1 fdl
[ANSI-T1.403]
configure t1 framing
[ESF]
configure t1 lbo ds1
[0.0dB]
configure t1 linecode
[B8ZS]
configure t1 loopback
[INHIBIT]
configure t1 timeslots
[1-24 64]
Note
When configuring the Line Buildout for DSX1, SC-IP uses five ranges of lengths: 0 - 133 ft, 133-266 ft,
266-399 ft, 399 - 533 ft, 533-655 ft. Be aware that if you select a value at the beginning of a range, such as
133 ft, SC-IP will use the lower range that includes that value.

Type
show T1
to check your T1 value entries. Modify, if needed.
3. Configure the Ethernet IP address and mask by typing:
configure interfaces ip-address ethernet0
[###.###.###.###] [###.###.###.###]
4. Enter a description of the Ethernet interface by typing:
configure interfaces description ethernet0
[your_description]
5. Enable the Ethernet interface by typing:
configure interfaces enable ethernet0
6. Configure the serial0 interface (at the T1 port) for Frame Relay DTE by typing:
configure interface link-encap serial0 frame-relay-dte
7. Configure the Frame Relay LMI by typing:
configure frame-relay lmi type s0
[cisco]
configure frame-relay lmi n391 s0
