5.5.6. Earthing of the power generator
GEKO/EISEMANN power generators are manufactured in accordance with DIN VDE 0100/part 551 and
DIN VDE 0100/part 410 with the protective separation safety measure with potential equalisation in
the IT network. The star point of the generator is not connected to the housing of the power genera-
tor. An earth connection using the earthing screw on the power generator and an earthing spike can
therefore serve only to dissipate static charges. The equipotential bonding conductor (yellow/green)
must, however, be wired and connected to all consumers.
If the power generator is equipped with a residual current protective circuit, the star point of the
generator must be connected to the casing of the power generator, and via the earthing screw to a
suitable potential equalisation conductor. An earth spike can be used for this. Please note that before
the power generator is put into operation this protective measure must be checked by an electrician
for compliance with the currently valid regulation, e.g. DGUV V3. A measurement is required for this.
Correct operation of the protective measure must be documented in a test report. A check must also
be made that all potential equalisation conductors are connected without gaps and that they are cor-
rectly connected to the consumers. The power generator is now installed as a TN-C-S system.
Responsibility for the installation of all protective measures lies with the responsible electrician. Before
the power generator is put into operation, the correct operation of all protective measures must be
checked by an electrician.

Provide first aid in accordance with guidelines and/or notify first responders.
NOTE
Before starting the power generator, perform the tests that are to be done before putting into operation. In
particular, check:
• - Engine oil level
• - Fuel level
• - Correct connection of the consumers
• Switch the fuel cock (20-3) to "ON".
• Turn the ignition switch (20-4) to the "I" position.
• To start the engine when cold, put the choke lever to the CLOSED position.
• Pull the starter grip lightly until you feel resistance.
