5.5. Daily checks before putting into operation
5.5.1. Checking for completeness and damage
NOTE
If any external damage is visible, do not put the power generator into operation!
• Keep the supply and exhaust air openings free.
• Keep the power generator clean inside and out. Oil and dirt endanger operational readiness.
• Check the power generator for rust and paint damage.
Touch up paint damage immediately.
• Check the power generator for loose or missing parts.
• There must be no objects on the power generator.
• Check the power generator for leaks.
Immediately repair the power generator if there are any leaks.
5.5.2. Checking the oil level in the engine
NOTE
The level must not drop below the "MIN" marking. This would result in engine damage.
• Turn off the engine.
• Let the engine cool down for at least five minutes.
• The power generator must be horizontally positioned.
• Screw out the oil filling seal/dipstick (20-8).
• Wipe the oil filling seal/dipstick (20-8) off with clean, lint-free cloth.
• Guide the Oil filling seal/dipstick (20-8) back into the oil filler neck. Do not twist
or tighten.
• Pull out the dipstick (20-8) and check the oil level.
• If the oil level is near or below the lower limit mark on the dipstick, top the engine up with oil
until the level reaches the upper limit mark (bottom edge of the oil filler neck). Do not overfill.
