9. Reboot the Sender unit by one of these methods: 1) Disconnect and reconnect the
power supply. 2) Click the
Reboot
button on the Web interface. 3) Type
reboot
in
the
Console API Command
text box and click the
Apply
button.
10. Repeat steps 1 through 9 for each Sender and Receiver on the network that will be
using RS-232.
Note that the RS-232 feature behaves similar to video when using
unicast
or
multicast
modes:
► Unicast Mode
When in
unicast
mode
, only a single Receiver will be able to communicate with the
RS-232 host (Computer) device, as shown below:
► Multicast Mode
When using
multicast
mode
, multiple Receiver units will be able to communicate with
the RS-232 host (Computer) device.
For instance, if we expand on our original example by connecting a Gefen 4x1 HD
Switcher to Receiver A, B, and C (not shown), then we could control all three devices
simultaneously.
