The
DVI KVM over IP
Sender and Receiver units can either be connected over a Local
Area Network or they can be directly connected to one another.
Connecting to a Local Area Network (LAN)
1. Connect a CAT-5e (or better) cable between the Link jack on the Sender unit
and your LAN connection, via a switch or router.
2. Connect any one of the three Ethernet ports on the Receiver unit to the LAN.
Although any of the Ethernet ports can be used, it is recommended to use Ethernet
port 1 for connecting the Receiver unit to the LAN, in order to easily identify this as
the “LAN cable”.
3. Connect any additional IP-based devices or daisy-chain additional Receiver
units to Ethernet ports 2 and 3.
Direct Connection
1. Connect a CAT-5e (or better) cable from the Link jack on the Sender unit to the
Ethernet 1 jack on the Receiver unit. Although you can connect the CAT-5e cable to
any of the three Ethernet ports, it is recommended that Ethernet 1 is used for the first
connection. This leaves Ethernet port 2 and 3 open for connecting additional devices
or when daisy-chaining Receiver units.
