Vx11 and Vx9 Compatibility

Chapter Scope

The following sections describes compatibility issues between the Vx11 family
and its predecessors Vx9.

Basic compatibility:

Each Vx11 is as compatible as possible to the Vx9 family. Missing features on
the Vx11 is the PS/2 keyboard/mouse support.

The Vx11 offers dual core CPU technology with dual channel DRAM up to
4 GB. It has an XMC/PMC slot, an additional Fast Ethernet port on the front,
two SATA channels, two USB connectors at the front panel, onboard audio and
a superior graphics solution.

The existing transition module VTM21 can be used for the Vx11 if no new
functions are required.

Front I/O:

The Vx11 offers a second USB port on the front panel instead of the removed
PS/2 connectors. The serial port connector is a RJ45 type on the Vx11. The
Vx11 has an optional Fast Ethernet port on its front panel.
