Internal caching
To read all the actual hourly values at any time it is necessary to activate the procedure “internal caching”
first. This way, all data from the part of the gACC-499E/U of the measurement will be copied to the TC65i
module.
1.
Battery power supply with call windows
The device is normally in sleep mode and can be activated with switch 2. After all LEDs are
on another 3 minutes have to be waited before all values are copied.
2.
Mains power supply or permanently on.
a.
The device is continuously switched on and therefore it should be reset once.
In order to perform this switch 2 has to be turned on and wait until all LEDs are
on + 3 minutes. Now a reset can be performed by using a config cable and the
gACC-499 configuration program. See chapter 3.5.
b.
The caching can also be activated without a reset. To do this, switch 1 has to
be turned OFF. After 1 minute switch 1 can be turned ON, and shortly after that
switch 2 also can be turned ON. After all LEDs are on wait for approx. 3
minutes. All data is now copied internally. The switch 2 must be put to OFF.

The Test Mode
To perform a communication test during commissioning a test mode is applied. The test mode is activated by
using DIP switch 4.
Procedure for Encoder/gAVC 1200 application:
If the gACC-499E/U is in sleep mode this must be awakened first.. In order to do this DIP switch 1 must be
turned from ON to OFF. DIP switch 3 must be turned ON in order to follow the s
tatus by using the LED’s.
Before turning DIP switch 1 back to ON approx. 1 minute must be waited. When all LEDs are on DIP switch
4 must be turned ON. After a short while the GSM and CONNECTED LED will turn off. After a few minutes
the GSM and CONNECTED LED will light briefly. Now DIP switch 4 must be turned OFF and the gACC-
499E/U will stay active for 30 minutes. If at this point the cover will be placed back again it is recommended
to turn DIP switch 3 to OFF. Never forget to turn DIP switch 3 to the OFF position, this will safe energy of the
batteries.

Status check
The gACC-499E/U is equiped with 6 LEDs to indicate the status of the device.
The image above shows a gACC-499E/U in operating mode where no APN is configured. Therefore the
GPRS LED is off. When the CONNECTED LED during startup is alternately turning on and off, data from the
gAVC 1200 is being cached. Only if the LED stays on continuously there can be communicated.
READY indicates that the gACC can be started.
GSM lightens when a GSM network has been found and has been logged in.
GPRS lightens when a GPRS network has been found and has been logged in.
CONNECTED lightens when the device is connected.
ACTIVITY blinks during communication and blinks short during a sys. Startup.
RXD blinks when polling data from the gAVC 1200.
TXD blinks when receiving data.(Encoder or gAVC 1200)
