Replacing the battery

Locate the battery on the system board (see “System board layout” on
page 98). The battery is circular and has the positive pole mark (+) on
the top.

Place the edge of a small flat-head screwdriver under the battery and lift
it up until it pops out of the socket.

Press the new battery in the socket with the positive pole up. Make sure
you have pressed the battery down far enough for it to contact the base
of the socket (it should snap into place).

Close the case by following the procedure “To close the Gateway
Mid-Tower case:” on page 19.

Open the BIOS Setup utility, then select
Load Custom BIOS Settings
from
the
Exit
menu.
