with the corresponding local regulations and requirements for electrical
appliances and packaging. Please contact your local disposal company.
Do not dispose of electrical appliances as unsorted municipal waste. Use
separate collection facilities. Contact your local government for information regar-
ding the collection systems available. If electrical appliances are disposed of in land-
fills, dumps, or refuse incineration, hazardous substances can leak into the ground-

into the food chain and damaging your health and well-being. When replacing old
appliances with new once, the retailer is legally obligated to take back your old

– To avoid hazards due to overheating, fire, and electric shock,
always unplug the appliance from the mains power supply, when it is not in use.
Always ensure that all parts and accessories of the appliance and the packaging
material are
out of reach of children younger than 8 years and animals.
Before storage, empty the drip tray and clean the appliance to avoid the build-up of
harmful germs and unpleasant odours (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’). Ensure that the foil
cutter bar is engaged at the rear of the appliance to avoid damage to the hinges.
Additionally, you should lock the lid to the base of the appliance (see: ‘Operation’).
Power cords may never be knotted, twisted, pulled, strained or squeezed. Do not
leave the power cord hang down. Ensure that nobody will pull the appliance by the
power cord. We recommend to lay the power cord loosely around the cord storage
at the bottom of the appliance.
For moving the appliance, do not hold the appliance by the power cord, foil cutter,
or open lid. Grasp the appliance at its base. Ensure to store the appliance and all
its parts and accessories (e.g. the vacuum hose) where it is clean, dry and safe from
inadmissible strain. Do not place any hard or heavy objects on or in the appliance
or any part of it.
