7.1.2. Transparent Mode
In service mode “Transparent“ the
Datalogger IDL 101 operates as interface converter from RS-232 to RS-485. This
means the data logger is connected to the host via RS-232 interface and further modules, which can be handled by the
host, are connected at the RS-485 interface. In this mode the adjustments for the RS-485 interface are also used for
the RS-232 interface! After return to the normal mode the old and possible different adjustment are activated again for
both interfaces.
The transparent mode is usually used only for installation of a system, configuration and testing individual components.
For normal operation the master function of the data logger is used.
Configuration of the external channels is done at the host PC with the help of the
Configuration Software ICP 100.
Notice:
The possible storage of measured values will be interrupted during the transparent mode and will be activated
again after return to normal mode.
