Checks Before Starting
Always check the items in this section before starting the engine each day.
Check Coolant Level, Add Coolant
WARNING
Do not open the radiator cap unless necessary. Wait for the engine to cool down before checking the coolant in the sub-tank.
Immediately after the engine is stopped, the coolant is at a high temperature and the radiator is under high internal pressure.
If the cap is removed to check the coolant level in this condition, there is a hazard of burns. Wait for the temperature to go
down, then turn the cap slowly to release the pressure before removing it.
1. Open the engine hood and check that the coolant level is
between the FULL and LOW marks on radiator sub-tank (1)
(Shown in the diagram on the right). If the water level is low,
add clean and soft water through the water filler of sub-tank (1)
to the FULL level.
2. After adding coolant, tighten the cap securely.
3. If the sub-tank (1) is empty, there is probably leakage of water.
After inspecting, repair any abnormality immediately. If there is
no abnormality, check the coolant level in the radiator. If the
water level is low, add water to the radiator, then fill the
sub-tank (1).
