DVD Player
If your system comes with a DVD, DVD-R/DVD-RW or Combo drive, you
can use the DVD player to play back DVD movies.
Turning the DVD Player On/Off
To use your system as a consumer DVD player, press the
DVD/VCD
button
on the remote control. If your system is in an off state when you press the but-
ton, you will be in
AV mode .
When you have finished using the player, you can switch directly to another
element. If you want to directly turn the system off, press the
Stand By
button
or power button.
Playing a DVD/VCD
Note: Most DVD’s have regional settings. When you play a disc from a different
region, you will be asked if you want to change the region setting in
PC mode .
However, you won’t be able to play the disc in AV mode unless you change the
region setting in PC mode . (See “WinDVD Setup” in Chapter 5 for information
on region settings.)
1. Press the
DVD
button on the remote control.
2. a. If you have inserted the DVD before starting the DVD player, the system
will start playing the DVD.
b. If inserting the DVD after the player has started, press the
Play
button
again on the remote control to start playing.
3. To control the DVD player, use the remote control. (See the following
diagram for instructions.)
