Chapter 9 Maintenance and Inspection Periodic Check

Status Check

Electrical Safety
Refer to the following "Electrical Safety Inspection Procedure5".
Item Inspection Item Procedure Criteria
Performance 1) Check clock Touch [Set Date/Time] on the maintenance
menu screen (Refer to "Checking the Date
and Time" on page 3-3.) Verify that the present date/time is
displayed in the Clock Setting window
and is correct.
2) Thermal printing test 1) Touch [Thermal Printing Test] on the
maintenance menu screen.
2) Touch [Rectangular Pattern].
Touch Speed to change the feeding rate. The chart paper must not move in a
zigzag direction.
The chart paper must not be folded on the
left and right edges.
No irregular or smeared recording.
No missed dots
Paper speed
Feeding rate 0.20in/s: 0.20in
(Within ±3%)
Feeding rate 0.39in/s: 0.39in
(Within ±3%)
Feeding rate 0.49in/s: 0.49in
(Within ±3%)
Feeding rate 0.98in/s: 0.98in
(Within ±3%)
Feeding rate 50 mm/s: 50 mm
(Within ±3%)
3) LCD test Touch [LCD Test] on the maintenance
menu screen. All dots should appear.
The colors must be correct.
4) Key test 1) Touch [Key Test] on the maintenance
menu screen.
2) Touch each key. The display corresponding to the pressed
key must be highlighted.
4 Touch panel test 1) Touch [Touch Panel Test] on the
maintenance menu screen.
2) Touch + symbol. Correct reaction should occur at the
touch point.
6) Sound test 1) Touch [Sound Test] on the maintenance
menu screen.
2) Touch each sound. Sounds should be produced at a proper
volume level.
Inspection Item Criteria
Backup battery Must be 2.5 V or greater.
Condition of thermal print head Within ±10ºC of room temperature.
Condition of paper tray Displays "UP" when the paper tray is open and "SET" when it is closed.
Sensor detecting presence/
absence of paper "Yes" should appear when paper is removed or "No" should appear when paper is loaded.
