Order of expansion card installation

Use the PCI slots in accordance with the priority indicated in the following table.

 

The expansion card marked with "S" is installed with the server as a standard feature. 

*1: For 3.5-inch hard disk type, slot 2 is not available for installation of an expansion card.

Notes on installing expansion cards

• Use the installable expansion cards only.
• Before installing an expansion card, refer to the manual supplied with the options, and observe the 

related notes. Further, observe the following notes for each expansion card.

Installing or removing SCSI card (PG-2281) and SAS array controller card 

(PG-244C / PG-248G)

Configuration information on the device changes by installing a SCSI card (PG-2281) or a SAS array 
controller card (PG-244C / PG-248G) in the server because the bridge circuits are installed in the insides 
of the cards. Therefore, when adding/removing the SCSI card (PG-2281) or the SAS array controller 
card (PG-244C / PG-248G) after OS installation, the onboard LAN controller might be recognized by 
the OS as a new device. After adding/removing the card, perform the onboard LAN settings (IP address 
etc.), and set software that uses the onboard LAN again.

SAS array controller card

A battery backup unit (BBU) is supplied with a SAS array controller card (PG-248C1 / PG-248G). Make 
sure to install the battery backup unit.
