CAUTION!
To prevent damage to the connectors and loss of data, only SATA hard
disks may be used in the SATA server version.
To prevent damage to the connectors and loss of data, only SAS or only
SATA hard disk drives may be used in the SAS server version.
The assembly brackets for the hard disks are identical for all the basic
versions.
8.1 Handling HDD modules
The hard disk drives incorporated into the HDD modules are highly sensitive
electromagnetic devices and must be handled with great care. Incorrect
handling can lead to partial or total failure of the hard disk drives.
These failures can result in data errors and to a loss of data or to total corruption
of the hard disk drive.
Please observe the following rules, which will help prevent such problems
occurring:

Only store and transport HDD modules within the limits stipulated in the
specification.
●
When transporting HDD modules (even over short distances), always use
the original packaging (ESD labeling).
●
Never expose an HDD module to a temperature shock. Avoid the formation
of condensation inside and on the outside of the hard disk drive.
