Features Introduction
The server can optionally be upgraded with a SATA backplane. The SATA hard
disk drive modules then have a wireless connection via the SATA interface. This
allows hard disk drive modules to be easily plugged in or removed. If the server
has a corresponding RAID configuration, defective HDD modules can also be
replaced during operation.
Onboard SAS controller with Integrated Mirroring Enhanced functionality
An 8-channel SAS controller with "Integrated Mirroring Enhanced" (IME)
functionality is fitted to operate the two hard drives. IME also provides RAID
functionality for configuring the internal hard drives (RAID level 0, 1, 1E).

A separate utility is available to the controller for IME configuration.

Onboard SATA controller
A 2-channel SATA controller is fitted to operate the two hard drives. LSI SATA
Software RAID supports RAID level 0 and 1.

The controller has its own configuration utility. Further information can be

(on the
ServerBooks DVD under "Controllers").
Accessible drives
An installation slot is provided for a slimline CD/DVD drive (optional). The
accessible drive installed here cannot be replaced during operation.
Power supply
The server has a built-in power supply unit, which automatically sets itself to a
mains voltage in the range 100 V - 127 V or 200 V - 240 V.
