Troubleshooting and Tips
Drive Reported as Defective
Ê
Switch OFF the corresponding server blade and physically replace the
defective hard disk drive with an identical model (see “Installing an
Additional Hard Disk Drive” on page 83).
Ê
Reboot the server blade and enter the
FastBuild (tm) Utility Main Menu
.
Ê
Select the
Rebuild Array
option
[5]
. The array in the
Critical
status will be
displayed.
Ê
Highlight the array and press
[Enter]
. A new screen will then appear.
Ê
Under
[Select Drive for Rebuild]
, highlight the replacement (new)
drive. The ID of this drive must be set to “Slave”.

CAUTION!
All drive data will be overwritten.
Make sure you choose the correct drive and have defined the new,
blank drive as a “Slave” drive.
Ê
Press
[Enter]
and confirm that the data will be copied to the selected drive.
All data on the replacement drive will be overwritten with mirrored infor-
mation from the array drive. A progress bar will appear.
Once the rebuild process is complete, the user will be asked to reboot the
system.

Reboot the server blade.
