3.3.6 Setting I/O Space for PCI Devices (2/2)
Select one of the following two assignment types and set the assignment in the
"Device Manager menu" of the UEFI.
* When auto assignment is used for some devices and forced assignment is used for other
devices in the same system, auto assignment is performed after forced assignment is set
(and a system reset is performed).

Forced assignment of the I/O space
•
Reserve an I/O resource for each device (including onboard devices such as IOUs) for I/O
resources and PCI Express cards that are included in a partition.
•
This type of assignment is useful for assigning I/O space to specific devices and cards if
there are more than 16 devices that require the I/O space.
•
Auto assignment of the I/O space
•
This type of assignment is easy to use and can be implemented when the partition
configuration is relatively small and 16 or less devices require the I/O space.
